Misys Healthcare Systems and UnitedHealth Group Join in Collaborative

    RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2005--Misys Healthcare Systems today announced that it will work jointly with UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) to provide medical health care professionals a direct link for claims processing, automated payment posting and eligibility checking. This direct link will streamline electronic transaction processing by reducing the amount of time it takes to transmit the transaction from the health care professional's office to UnitedHealth Group. Misys and UnitedHealth Group expect to introduce this service by mid-February.
    With the agreement, Misys Healthcare Systems' M Transaction Services business unit, which processes about 400 million electronic transactions per year, has further expanded its direct connections to payers - thus providing Misys' 92,000 physician clients at 18,000 medical practice locations with direct access to UnitedHealth Group. In the past, M Transaction Services transmitted claims to an intermediate company for submission to UnitedHealth Group.

    The agreement between M Transaction Services and UnitedHealth Group covers a variety of claims management services including claims processing, automated payment posting and eligibility checking. Details of the agreement were not disclosed.
