Gibbs Technologies Announces Job Openings

DETROIT, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Gibbs Technologies is looking to hire more than 20 engineers, project managers, designers and development technicians for its North American Operations.

The company's President and CEO, Neil Jenkins, said engineering, purchasing and administrative positions currently are available in a variety of key areas, including electronics, closures, body structures and chassis, homologation, hull design, packaging, plastics and composites, powertrain and seating.

Gibbs Technologies also has openings for project managers, lead designers, designers and manufacturing-process engineers, as well as openings in information technology and its newly established purchasing and supply-chain management office.

The company continues to search for permanent sites for its North American headquarters, technical center and manufacturing operations.

Additional employment information and a listing of job openings are available on the Internet at http://www.gibbstech.com/careers.php, where job candidates also can submit their resumes.

Gibbs Technologies is the world's leading developer of high-speed amphibious vehicles (HSA) for consumer, commercial and military use. The company announced plans last summer to introduce consumer products in North America during 2009. Military applications for the company's technology also are under development as part of a teaming agreement with Lockheed-Martin .

"Southeastern Michigan will serve as the initial 'launch pad' for our future operations in North America," Jenkins said. "While we hope to establish permanent facilities in Michigan or elsewhere in the Great Lakes region, we also continue to actively consider locations in Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas."

Gibbs products include the Aquada, a vehicle that combines the handling of a sports car with the ability to travel at more than 30 mph on water and 110 mph on land; the Humdinga, a four-wheel-drive five-passenger amphibian capable of speeds up to 100 mph on land and 40 mph on water, and the Quadski, an all- terrain vehicle capable of speeds up to 40 mph on both land and water.

Aquada and Humdinga will be built and marketed by Gibbs Amphibians. Quadski will be manufactured and sold by Gibbs Sports Amphibians, while a third company -- Gibbs Military Amphibians -- actively is developing patented high-speed, amphibious-vehicle technology for military use.
