AIG Domestic Accident & Health Division Launches New Vision Care Insur
Business Editors
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2005--The Domestic Accident and Health Division of the AIG Companies(SM) today announced the launch of AIG Vision Care, a new insurance program designed to help companies strengthen their benefit packages with broad vision coverage that can be customized to meet the specific needs of their businesses.
AIG Vision Care delivers a full-range of eye-care programs supported by a highly accessible network of skilled ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and vision care centers located throughout the country. Additionally, insureds will be reimbursed for any claims originating from a visit to a nonparticipating vision service provider. Coverage may also be extended to spouses and dependents of an insured.(a)
With more than 150 million Americans wearing corrective lenses(1), companies that include quality vision coverage as part of their benefits package may be better positioned to attract and retain skilled employees.
"A sound vision care program not only satisfies the growing demand for such coverage, it may help to improve employee productivity and limit absenteeism related to vision ailments," said Stephen A. Gold, President, AIG Domestic Accident and Health Division. "Further, the AIG Vision Care program can be easily added to existing benefit plans with minimal additional administration."
The AIG Vision Care program provides maximum flexibility by offering alternative program structures, including multiple provider networks and varying levels of benefits. As a voluntary program payable through convenient payroll deductions, companies can obtain the precise vision benefits their employees value most at affordable group rates. AIG Vision Care is also available on an employer-paid basis, helping companies become "employers of choice."
