Tesla Faces Labor Board Complaint

(RTTNews) - A federal labor board has filed a complaint against Tesla Motors accusing the luxury electric car maker of unfair labor practices.

According to the National Labor Relations Board complaint, Tesla violated workers' rights by requiring them to sign a confidentiality agreement that restricted employees from talking about employee safety and working conditions at the company's facility in Fremont, California to the United Auto Workers. In one case, the company prevented an employee from taking a picture of the Confidentiality Agreement they had to sign.

Tesla has denied the allegations. "These allegations, which have been filed by the same contingent of union organizers who have been so outspoken with media, are entirely without merit," Tesla said in a statement.

Tesla is required to respond to the charges by September 14. The NLRB has scheduled a hearing for November 14 before an administrative law judge in Oakland, California.
