New product options and features include the following:

-- LiveState Recovery's Restore Anyware Option allows IT administrators to recover any Windows server or desktop to any other Windows server or desktop, independent of hardware configuration. This eliminates the need and cost of having to ensure identical hardware is available in the event of a disaster. This simple process is reliable and fast and can give administrators an easy means to recover, migrate or move Windows servers and desktops. The option also includes virtual conversion tools to increase the flexibility and manageability of LiveState Recovery by seamlessly converting recovery points between real and VMware compatible virtual environments and vice versa.

"This in turn enhances an organization's informationintegrity."

This release replaces LiveState Recovery 3.0 and aligns with thecurrent version numbering for other LiveState applications. Thefollowing product components are available for purchase either in aserver or desktop suite or can be purchased individually and added asneeded:

-- Symantec LiveState Recovery Advanced Server 6.0

-- Symantec LiveState Recovery Standard Server 6.0

-- Symantec LiveState Recovery Restore Anyware Option

-- Symantec LiveState Recovery LightsOut Restore Option

-- Symantec LiveState Recovery Manager 6.0

"Improving server recovery remains a high priority with mostcompanies -- and rapid system recovery is just as important as dataprotection," said Carolyn DiCenzo, Research Vice-President, GartnerInc. "Recovery plans must include a way to quickly and easily restoreoperating systems, applications and configuration information forcritical servers such as email and database servers. In order tosignificantly reduce disaster recovery times, enterprises shouldevaluate disk-based, bare metal restoration solutions that supportnewer technologies such as recovery to dissimilar hardware and virtualenvironments. These new approaches greatly expand the range ofrecovery options available to IT organizations and service providersduring emergency situations, further reducing risk and potential lossof revenue and customer satisfaction due to downtime."
