Sprint Nextel Receives Top Honor from U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) was recently honored by the U.S. HispanicChamber of Commerce (USHCC), the largest and most influential advocatefor Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States. The USHCC namedSprint Nextel its 2006 "Corporation of the Year," the highestcorporate award bestowed on any company by the USHCC. The recognition,known as the President's Award, was presented to Sprint NextelPresident and Chief Executive Officer Gary Forsee by USHCC Presidentand CEO Michael L. Barrera on Saturday night at an awards dinnerduring the USHCC's 27th Annual National Convention and Business Expoin Philadelphia.

"Sprint Nextel is an ongoing supporter of the USHCC, so I've seenfirst-hand what a valuable resource the USHCC can be," Forsee saidwhen accepting the award. "I am glad to know that they, in turn, seethe value Sprint Nextel has brought to the table."

Sprint Nextel received this year's President's Award based on itsdemonstrated commitment to the Hispanic community and its uniqueunderstanding of the factors that make this market unique.
