Nike Q3 Profit Tops Estimate; Revenue Falls Short
(RTTNews) - Nike, Inc. (NKE) reported net income for the third quarter of $791 million or $0.89 per share, compared to $682 million or $0.75 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Revenue for the third quarter rose 7% to $7.46 billion from $6.97 billion in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.84 per share on revenue of $7.62 billion for the third quarter.
As of the end of the third quarter, worldwide futures orders for Nike Brand athletic footwear and apparel scheduled for delivery from March 2015 through July 2015 were 2% higher than orders reported for the same period last year.
