UAW Sets Sunday Night Deadline For Contract With General Motors

(RTTNews) - The United Auto Workers union has given official notice to General Motors Co. (GM) terminating National Agreement, effective at 11:59 p.m. today, October 25, 2015. This would result in result in strike, if an agreement is not reached before the deadline.

The automaker has reportedly responded Saturday "We are working with them to address the issues and remain committed to obtaining an agreement that is good for employees and the business"

On its Facebook page, UAW has posted "Your UAW-GM bargaining team has served official notice to GM terminating the National Agreement and Salaried Master Agreement effective at 11:59 p.m. Sunday October 25."

On Thursday, UAW announced that it will pursue a contract for UAW-GM members in the next round of Big Three bargaining as negotiations continue at Ford (F).
