Teradyne and Softing Use Automotive Standard to Connect Their Systems

Using ASAM-standards not only simplifies the process ofcreating and testing diagnostic information for vehicle manufacturersand control module suppliers, but also enables different toolsuppliers to interconnect their systems. Teradyne (NYSE:TER) andSofting proved the standard-conformity of their product platforms in across-test, by linking the diagnostic authoring- and runtime systemGRADE-X(TM) and the DTS-CommunicationServer (DTS-COS) via the ASAMMCD-3-D interface.

"DTS-COS proved yet again to be a platform for diagnosticapplications", Mr. Steffelbauer, Manager Standard Products, Softingcommented: "Being the first product on the market, DTS-COS provides ahighly developed maturity."

"The minimal effort required for realising this connection showsthe effectiveness of the open architecture of GRADE-X and success ofthe ASAM standards" comments Martin Eichhorn, Teradyne Product ManagerGRADE-X.

The GRADE-X authoring- and runtime system can make use of testedand approved DTS7-COS ODX-diagnostic information via the ASAM MCD-3-Dinterface. Therefore, control modules can be accessed among othersusing all EDIC(R)-platforms and their various protocolimplementations.

Teradyne and Softing presented the test results at theASAM-membership meeting in March 2006.
