Sara Lee Corporation Promotes Frank van Oers to Vice President

    CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2005--Sara Lee Corporation announced today that its board of directors has elected Frank van Oers a vice president of the corporation, effective immediately.
    Mr. van Oers, 45, is chief financial officer of Sara Lee/DE, the Dutch affiliate of Sara Lee Corporation. He was recently promoted to his current position and previously served as regional vice president and president of Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems International. He reports to Adriaan Nuhn, executive vice president of Sara Lee Corporation and chief executive officer of Sara Lee/DE.
    Mr. van Oers joined Sara Lee in 1996 and he has held positions of increasing responsibility that include vice president of finance, administration and information technology for Douwe Egberts Netherlands, general manager of operations for Douwe Egberts Netherlands and president of Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems Netherlands B.V. Prior to Sara Lee, Mr. van Oers held various positions with Chicopee B.V., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, and was an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte Haskins & Sells.
    Mr. van Oers earned an accounting degree from and is a registered certified public accountant with NIVRA, the Netherlands' professional association of accountants.
