Qualcomm Inc. Q3 Earnings Climb 6%

(RTTNews) - Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) released a profit for its third quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $1.7 billion, or $1.16 per share. This was higher than $1.6 billion, or $0.99 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.97 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.4% to $6.0 billion. This was up from $5.8 billion last year.
