Newell Rubbermaid Inc. (NWL) is rising 3 percent to $30.00. The company's third quarter profit and revenues were higher than in the same period a year earlier. The company confirmed its guidance for core sales growth, normalized operating margin, normalized per-share earnings for 2013. In addition, the company's board has authorized a $350 million accelerated share repurchase plan in October.
Lear Corp. (LEA) is up more than 2 percent to $78.30. The company's third quarter adjusted earnings per share and sales topped analysts' expectations. The company also lifted its fiscal 2013 forecast.

Zynga, Inc. (ZNGA) is up 12 percent to $3.97. The company's third quarter net loss narrowed from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted result topped Street view. Revenue declined 36 percent, but topped the consensus estimate. The company forecast fourth quarter revenue above Street view. The company also announced the appointment of Clive Downie as its chief operating officer.
Career Education Corp. (CECO) is surging 48 percent to $5.64. The company announced it has reached a definitive agreement to sell and transfer control of its European education properties to private equity firm Apax Partners. The company anticipates receiving a cash payment of $276.5 million at closing.
