NETEZZA Expands in German-Speaking Countries
Netezza Corporation (NYSE Arca: NZ), the global leader in data
warehouse appliances, is further developing its business in Germany,
Austria and Switzerland and now has a German subsidiary headed by
regional manager Bernard Doering. Following its acquisition of NuTech
Solutions in May 2008, Netezza now has a total of 15 employees in
Germany, based in Munich and Dortmund. NuTech Solutions will continue to
operate as an independent organization within Netezza.
Since it was founded in 2000 in Boston, Mass., Netezza has been a
pioneer in the data warehouse appliance market. The Netezza Performance
Server® (NPS®)
system consists of database, storage and server integrated into one
appliance which allows terabytes of data to be analyzed more quickly and
easily and at a lower total cost of ownership than would be possible
with conventional solutions. More than 170 companies throughout the
world are using the Netezza Performance Server appliance to efficiently
analyze constantly growing data volumes.
Dave Kloc, vice president, European operations at Netezza, says, "Organizations
in a wide range of industries including telecommunications, financial
services, e-commerce and government have to meet increasingly demanding
and complex requirements for data analysis and, therefore, we believe
that the market for data warehouse appliances will grow exponentially.
The growth of Netezza GmbH is intended to accommodate this trend.”
Bernard Doering, Netezza country manager, DACH region, explains, "The
Netezza Performance Server appliance is designed for high-end,
storage-based data analysis which offers an optimum price/performance
ratio. We believe that we are ideally positioned in the data mart and
data warehouse markets to successfully develop our business in
German-speaking countries.”
The company’s first customers in this region
include IHA-GfK AG and The Phone House.
