Microsoft To Buy Mojang For $2.5 Bln - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) announced an agreement to acquire Mojang, Stockholm-based game developer, and the "Minecraft" franchise. Microsoft will acquire Mojang for $2.5 billion. The company expects the deal to be break-even in fiscal 2015 on a GAAP basis. The Mojang team will join Microsoft Studios.

Available across multiple platforms, "Minecraft" is one of the most popular video games, with more than 100 million downloads, on PC alone. Microsoft plans to continue to make "Minecraft" available across all the platforms on which it is currently available.
