Microsoft Corporation Profit Rises 8% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) revealed earnings for its second quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $6.28 billion, or $0.78 per share. This was up from $5.79 billion, or $0.70 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.71 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.7% to $25.69 billion. This was down from $26.14 billion last year.
