Designed with the input of veterans and employers, the new VeteranTransition Center enables veterans to make the most of their militaryexperience and benefits as well as connect efficiently with careeropportunities. At the heart of the transition center is the nation'smost popular veteran job board, which today serves over 50% of alltransitioning veterans looking for jobs. The center also features aSkills Translator to assist in identifying how military specialtiescan be parlayed into different career fields or clearly described toemployers. In addition, there is a resume center, interviewing tips, alist of military-friendly employers, education and training options,success stories, popular career fields, and benefits information.
The Transition Center also provides access to the nation's largestmilitary and veteran networking tool, the Veteran Career Network,where over 280,000 people have enrolled to assist veterans in findingopportunities in their career field, location or organization.
The Transition Center is the latest offering from an organizationthat continually innovates in support of veteran employment since itsfounding in 1999. In April 2005, for example, Monster marked veteranresumes with a red, white and blue "V" check, making it easier foremployers to identify and hire veterans, while reinforcing theDepartment of Labor's "Hire Vets First" campaign.
