KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE Earns DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award at Annual PMA Trade Show KODAK Kiosks, Professional Printer, Minilabs and EASYSHARE Digital Camera Also Winners in Multiple DIMA Shoot-Out Categories
Eastman Kodak Company's first-of-its-kind wireless digital camera, kiosks, professional printer, minilab, and digital cameras earned the company accolades for innovation and quality at this year's PMA 2005 Annual International Convention and Trade Show, held in Orlando. Specifically, the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) named the KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE a DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award winner.
DIMA recognized the EASYSHARE-ONE as one of only 17 products, out of thousands of digital products on display, for its influence on the future of digital imaging. Judges defined an Innovative Digital Product of PMA 2005 as one that utilizes new technologies in such a way as to make it either unique or the first of its kind. Launched in January 2005, the EASYSHARE-ONE is a WiFi digital camera that allows consumers to carry and instantly share up to 1,500 digital pictures with friends across the table, or across the globe.
"The DIMA Awards underscore Kodak's position as an innovator and leader in digital imaging," said Bernard Masson, president, Digital & Film Imaging Systems and senior vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. "We're gratified to see this position reinforced by leading authorities and experts in the imaging industry."
Also, at the second annual DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out, Kodak was named winner of both categories in the competition: the KODAK PICTURE MAKER G3 ORDER STATION in the remote category and the KODAK PICTURE MAKER G3 PRINT STATION in the stand-alone category. KODAK PICTURE MAKER kiosks are a quick and easy way to get real Kodak pictures from a digital camera or camera phone at retail. Announced at the show, Kodak will offer its KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology across an expanded set of digital printing systems worldwide, including KODAK PICTURE MAKER.
Manufacturers brought their digital photo kiosks to the DIMA Shoot-Out studio where the kiosks were evaluated based on user-friendliness, quality of print, feature set, overall experience, number of steps to get to the print function, ergonomics and speed and specification sheet rating. A panel of digital imaging experts and the DIMA board judged the competition.
In the DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out, the KODAK PROFESSIONAL 1400 DIGITAL PHOTO PRINT SYSTEM won in the 8x10-inch or larger, $2499 or less category, and the KODAK System 89 DLS won in the Digital Minilab (10-inch maximum) category. A target file was created for the competition by industry color experts and sent to various digital printer, media, ink and RIP manufacturers to output according to particular specifications. A panel of digital imaging professionals voted on the entries based on the overall quality of the digital print and the accuracy of color compared to the "target" print.
In the DIMA 2005 Digital Camera Shoot-Out category, the KODAK EASYSHARE CX7430 won best camera in the $100-$199 range. Participating camera manufacturers captured images in four live-model studios, and images from the point-and-shoot cameras were printed on three digital minilab systems. A panel of expert judges selected the winners based on the overall quality of the digital print and the accuracy of the overall color as compared to samples of fabric worn by studio models.
