KLA-Tencor Q3 Profit Decreases - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - KLA-Tencor Corporation (KLAC) reported third-quarter net income of $132 million or $0.81 per share, compared to $204 million or $1.21 per share, prior year. Adjusted earnings per share was $0.84, for the quarter.

On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.76 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue decreased to $738 million from $832 million last year. Analysts expected revenue of $726.65 million for the quarter.

KLA-Tencor also announced a plan to reduce its global employee workforce by up to 10 percent to streamline its organization and business processes in response to changing customer requirements in its industry. KLA-Tencor expects to substantially complete the employee reduction by the end of the first quarter of fiscal year 2016.
