Johnson & Johnson Q1 Income Climbs 6%

(RTTNews) - Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) released earnings for its first quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $4.69 billion, or $1.68 per share. This was up from $4.42 billion, or $1.56 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.65 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 0.6% to $17.48 billion. This was up from $17.37 billion last year.
