HMA Selects IntelliDOT Corporation's Handheld Bedside Scanning Technology for 55 HMA Hospitals Nationwide

The CAREt System is the first nurse-centered workflow manager toconnect caregivers with the information systems they need at the pointof care. Built on a design that complements the way nurses work, theCAREt System provides a straightforward user interface that supports acomprehensive approach to medication safety and documentation atbedside, in a variety of healthcare settings.

In the just-issued report from the Institute of Medicine (IOM),"Preventing Medication Errors: Quality Chasm Series," researchersfound that medication errors lead to more than 1.5 million preventableinjuries each year. One of the IOM's recommendations for theprevention of medication errors is the use of bar-coding technology atthe point of care.
