Herbalife Q4 Profit Tops Estimate; Revenue Falls Shy

(RTTNews) - Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) reported fourth quarter net income of $103.3 million or $1.21 per share, compared to $123.5 million or $1.15 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $121.0 million or $1.41 per share, compared to $137.2 million or $1.28 per share in the prior year quarter.

fourth quarter net sales fell 11% to $1.13 billion from $1.27 billion a year ago, mainly due to the unfavorable impact of currency fluctuations.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.22 per share on revenue of $1.16 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward to the first quarter, the company forecasts net sales decline of 15.5% to 12.5%, earnings per share of $1.00 to $1.10 and currency adjusted EPS of $1.30 to $1.40.

For the full year 2015, the company forecasts net sales decline of 9% to 6%, earnings per share of $4.10 to $4.50 and currency adjusted EPS of $5.30 to $5.70.

Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.30 per share for the first quarter and $5.08 per share for the full year 2015.
