Hartford Q2 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - The Hartford (HIG) Monday said second-quarter loss widened to $190 million or $0.42 per share from $101 million or $0.26 per share in the same period last year.

Core earnings for the quarter increased 18 percent to $324 million or $0.66 per share from $274 million or $0.56 per share last year.

On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.71 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $5.47 billion, up from $4.57 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $5.46 billion.
