Expedia Inc. Q3 adjusted earnings Beat Estimates

(RTTNews) - Expedia Inc. (EXPE) announced a profit for its third quarter that advanced from last year.

The company's earnings totaled $525 million, or $3.43 per share. This compares with $352 million, or $2.23 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Excluding items, Expedia Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $567 million or $3.65 per share for the period.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $3.12 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 10.4% to $3.28 billion from $2.97 billion last year.
