Dollar General Names Kathleen Guion Division President of Store Operations, Store Development

Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) announced thatKathleen Guion has been promoted to division president of storeoperations and store development.

Guion, who joined the company in 2003 as executive vice presidentof store operations, reports to CEO David Perdue. She is nowresponsible for more than 7,800 stores and the company's real estategrowth strategies.

Prior to Dollar General, Guion was the president and chiefexecutive officer of Duke and Long Distributing Company, a conveniencestore chain operator and wholesale distributor of petroleum products.Prior to that time, she was an operating partner for Devon Partners,where she developed operating plans and assisted in the identificationof acquisition targets in the convenience store industry.Additionally, Guion served as president and chief operating officer ofE-Z Serve Corporation, an owner/operator of convenience stores,mini-marts and gas marts. Guion has also served as the vice presidentand general manager of the largest division of company-owned stores at7-Eleven, Inc., a convenience store chain.
