Grammer Ergomechanics Congress with top-class presenters

Amberg, September 11, 2017 - Grammer AG, a leading international supplier of components for automotive interiors and commercial vehicle seats, will be welcoming guests to the 3rd Interdisciplinary Spine Research Congress on September 26. For one day, the Amberg Congress Center will be devoted entirely to spine research. The main focus will be on the vehicle interior including the driver's workplace and its associated stress and strain.

The key note speech on the effects of back pain on society as a whole will be held by Dr. med. sci. Margareta Nordin, President of Eurospine and formerly professor at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York University. Nordin is one of the world's leading researchers in biomechanics of the spine and prevention, with an international track record spanning many years. Over the years, she has published the results of her research activities in numerous articles on muscles, back pain and occupational illnesses.

Invited Congress guests will experience a broad range of interesting topics - amongst others how innovative seating systems and armrests can lower spinal strain, comfort settings and technical requirements for interior components, and what comfort means in practice. The Congress will also be dealing with the question how scientific research can be incorporated in the development of seating systems and interior components in order to facilitate driver and passenger health.

As the organizer of the exclusive and globally unique congress, Grammer will be presenting its own ideas and innovations for applied ergonomics in products as well as next-generation vibration insulation.
Grammer AG has been able to secure top-class ergonomics experts from international universities such as New York University, the University of Washington, the Technical University of Munich, the Delft University of Technology and leading companies from the automotive and commercial vehicle industry as presenters. As one of Grammer AG's long-term development partners, Professor H.-J. Wilke from the Institute of Orthopaedic Research and Biomechanics will be reporting on the latest findings on the function and kinematics of the spine in the context of ergomechanics.
