Corporate Flops: 5 Dumb Products That Never Caught On

(RTTNews) - McDonald's this week announced it is getting rid of wraps.

It's hard to be too critical of McD's -- the fresher fast food market was ripe in light of Subway's embarrassments and Chipotle's diarrhea bombs.

On the other hand, some McDonalds menu items were doomed from the outset.

Consider the McPizza or the Arch Deluxe.

Other global icons aren't immune to the occasional dud. Mourn the marketing wizard who came up with New Coke or Crystal Pepsi.

Tinkering with a classic is usually a bad idea, challenging an industry icon may prove futile, and trying to be cooler than Apple can be a stupid waste of time.

Let this be a warning to future business leaders.
