Arizona Office Technologies Partners with Valley-Wide Non-Profits to Support Educating Youth
Arizona Office Technologies
(AOT), a document imaging provider, announced today that it has raised
funds to support two well known Valley organizations; the Scottsdale
Boys and Girls Club and Junior Achievement of Arizona, Inc.
In October, The Boys and Girls Club of
Scottsdale held its fourth annual Uncorked
and Unplugged event to raise funds to support its youth programs.
AOT was able to lend a major hand in making the event a success,
donating $10,000. The monies go back into the organization to provide
more educational paths to Valley youth.
In addition to supporting the Scottsdale Boys & Girls Club, Arizona
Office Technologies hosted its first Hula Bowl for Junior
Achievement last week, more than 55 AOT employees participated in
the event. AOT had 12 teams working to raise money for Junior
Achievement giving the company the ability to donate $9,000
in a check presentation Thursday, November 1. AOT’s
donation will teach 250 Junior Achievement children in Arizona this
year. Junior Achievement’s mission is to
inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
"As part of our commitment to education,
Arizona Office Technologies strives to support organizations like Junior
Achievement and the Boys and Girls Club, that educate and empower
individuals, entrepreneurs and institutions with the information they
need to build their lives, attain their goals and strengthen their
communities,” said Mike McGuirk, president of
Arizona Office Technologies. "Our company
hopes to continue helping educate Valley youth through resources like
Junior Achievement and the Boys and Girls Club.” "With support from area businesses like
Arizona Office Technologies, the Hula Bowl turned out to be a great
success,” said Marilyn Raigel, vice president
development of Junior Achievement. "Arizona
Office Technologies’ generous work for Junior
Achievement gives us the ability to teach 250 Valley children business
concepts such as work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial
literacy. We applaud their commitment to our community.”
Over 2,000 bowlers from numerous Valley companies participated
in helping send Arizona's children to Junior Achievement. Junior
Achievement Worldwide annually reaches approximately 8 million
students. Through age-appropriate curricula, JA programs begin at the
elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world
around them as individuals, workers and consumers.
