Applied Materials Posts Q4 Profit - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Applied Materials, Inc. (AMAT) Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $183 million or $0.15 per share, compared to a loss of $515 million or $0.42 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $228 million or $0.19 per share. On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.18 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales increased to $1.99 billion from $1.65 billion last year. Analysts expected sales of $1.98 billion.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company has forecast adjusted earnings in the range of $0.20 to $0.24 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $0.58 per share.
