Amazon Unveils Sweet New Kindle

(RTTNews) - Thinner and lighter Kindle with twice the memory of models available in market was launched by Amazon (AMZN) on Wednesday. The new e-reader is priced at $79.9 and will be available in while as well as black colors.

The new Kindle has rounded design that help hold it comfortable with one hand and at any angle. The company said the screen of Kindle will have no glare even in direct sunlight. The display of new Kindle emits no light, as blue light from tablet and smartphones are found to suppress body's melatonin hormone that helps the body fall asleep. Moreover Amazon assures a battery life that can last weeks and not hours, however it has not mentioned the specifics.

There a few new features available on latest Kindle. Notes can be in print friendly PDF format. One can easily export notes and highlights to e-mail that can be used as a reference later and also can share quotes to friends via Facebook and Twitter. This feature will be available in the coming weeks as a free, over-the-air software update.

The e-reader audio can be accessed using a built-in- Bluetooth. VoiceView screen reader will help visually impaired users read e-books and other content on screen, without an adapter.

Kindle users can use personalized home screen. Navigation will help them discover next favorite book, recommendations from friends, etc. One can assess the time required to finish a chapter or a book based on personalized reading speed.
