-- Gartner Business Intelligence Summit 2005 is the only event designed to provide businesses with the knowledge they will require to create a visionary Business Intelligence (BI) strategy. Through a content-focused curriculum, attendees will learn the methodologies, strategies, technologies and architectures that will move them from the tactics of cost cutting and compliance, to increasing their companies' agility and responsiveness and improving overall business performance.

-- Keynote speakers include Tom Malone, professor at MIT Sloan School of Management and author of "The Future of Work," and Don Tapscott, author of "The Naked Corporation." They will both discuss their insights surrounding organizational challenges and solutions - related to BI.

-- The first BI Excellence Award winner will be voted for and announced onsite in Chicago. Award entrants will be evaluated against a range of criteria including Gartner's Cornerstone of Business Excellence Research Note. Three finalists, to be selected by Gartner's Business Intelligence Team, will present their solutions at the Business Intelligence Summit. Event attendees will then vote to select the winner of the first Gartner BI Excellence Award.

    Industry Insight:

    Gartner's senior analysts and other industry experts will present practical advice that can be used today on topics such as business intelligence, data warehousing and corporate performance management. Sessions will cover a variety of subject matter including: infrastructure and tool investment; design; metrics; disruptive trends; CRM; business activity monitoring; data mining; data quality; and compliance/corporate governance.
