100 Cities Vie For Amazon HQ

(RTTNews) - More than 100 cities in the U.S. are vying to become the host city for Amazon's second headquarters.

US cities that are seeking to bid for Amazon's second headquarters will need to submit their proposals by the end of Thursday.

Amazon plans to invest $5 billion on the new headquarters, which will create 50,000 new jobs. The investment will also create tens of thousands of other jobs in construction and the surrounding community.

Amazon prefers metropolitan areas with more than one million people along with "a stable and business-friendly environment." The company seeks urban or suburban locations with the "potential to attract and retain strong technical talent."

According to reports, Boston, Miami, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City, Camden, Newark, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Phoenix, Tucson, Nashville, Memphis, Detroit and Grand Rapids have all expressed interest in hosting Amazon's new headquarters.

However, experts believe Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and Washington D.C. to be the likely candidates.
