Taiwan Export Orders Recover 1.0% In November

(RTTNews) - Taiwan's export orders increased for the first time in more than a year in November, though at a slower-than-expected rate, according to data released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs on Wednesday.

Export orders rose 1.0 percent year-over-year in November, reversing a 4.6 percent decline in October.

The expected recovery was 4.3 percent. Further, this was the firts increase since September last year.

Orders for information and communication products grew the most, by 10.0 percent, closely followed by optical, photographic, cinematographic apparatus with a 9.8 percent increase. Meanwhile, foreign orders for transport equipment dropped, notably by 24.9 percent.

On a monthly basis, export orders decreased by a seasonally adjusted 4.2 percent in November.

In New Taiwan dollar terms, export orders increased by 2.5 percent yearly, while they dropped 5.4 percent monthly in November.
