Malaysia Leading Index Falls In October
(RTTNews) - Malaysia's leading index decreased in October, survey data released by the Department of Statistics showed Wednesday.
The leading index dropped 0.8 percent month-on-month to 117.6 in October from 118.6 in September. A 0.3 percent drop in real imports of semi conductors and expected sales value in manufacturing sector contributed the most to the monthly fall in the leading index.
On a yearly basis, the index advanced 0.7 percent versus 1.5 percent rise in September.
The coincident index which measures the current economic activity, remained unchanged over the month at 121.1.
Annually, it gained 1.9 percent versus 2.5 percent a month ago.
