Austria Manufacturing Growth Slows In May: Markit

(RTTNews) - Austria's manufacturing sector growth slowed in May, as new orders stagnated and output grew modestly, survey data from Markit Economics showed Friday.

The seasonally adjusted Bank Austria purchasing managers' index fell to 50.9 in May from 51.4 in April. Any reading above 50 indicates the expansion of the sector.

The survey showed that net improvement in the sector continued for the tenth month in a row, but growth was marginal.

In May, new orders were little changed compared to the previous month and signaled the worst performance for 13 months amid reports of slower market demand. Employment growth was also marginal in May.
