Moody's assigns rating to Horizon's venture debt backed ABS

New York, July 01, 2013 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned rating of A2 (sf) to the asset-backed notes to be issued by Horizon Funding Trust 2013-1 (the "Notes"). The Notes are backed by a static pool of term loans to development stage growth companies, often venture capital-backed, operating in the technology, life sciences, healthcare and cleantech industries. The sponsor, seller and servicer is Horizon Technology Finance Corporation ("Horizon"), a leading venture debt lender with a focus in these industries. The loans were originated by Horizon Technology Finance Management LLC ("HTFM") on behalf of Horizon Technology Finance Corporation. HTFM is the external manager of Horizon and as subservicer will perform certain servicing functions in this transaction on behalf of Horizon.
