Yandex Names Greg Abovsky COO; To Continue In Current Role As CFO

(RTTNews) - Yandex N.V. (YNDX), a European internet company, and the leading search provider in Russia, announced Wednesday that Greg Abovsky has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, effective December 1.

He will succeed Alexander Shulgin, current COO, who has decided to leave the company. Abovsky will continue acting in his current role as the company's Chief Financial Officer.

Arkady Volozh will remain Chief Executive Officer of Yandex N.V.

Abovsky joined Yandex as its Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Development in 2013. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2014, and, for the past few years, he has been focusing on the company's operations, as well as contributing to the development of its services.

Volozh said, "Greg Abovsky shares Yandex core values and a vision for growing the Yandex ecosystem. Over the last five years, he has worked closely with Alexander and I am confident that he is best positioned to take Yandex forward."
