Wilmington Trust Names Executive to Lead European Business; Christophe Schroeder Hired to Expand Service Offerings, Jurisdictional Capabilities

Wilmington Trust Corporation (NYSE: WL) announced todaythat it has hired Christophe Schroeder to fill a new position asexecutive managing director and head of the company's Corporate ClientServices (CCS) business in Europe.

Mr. Schroeder is based in London and responsible for managing allaspects of CCS' European sales, service, and operations. His role isto expand Wilmington Trust's service offerings and jurisdictionalcapabilities on the continent.

"Much of the growth in our Corporate Client Services business inrecent years has come from Europe, where the market for assetsecuritizations has been strong," said Ted T. Cecala, chairman and CEOof Wilmington Trust. "Further opportunities exist in Europe toleverage our core services by introducing new products and enteringnew markets."

From offices in the United States, London, Dublin, the CaymanIslands, and the Channel Islands, Wilmington Trust is a leadingprovider of fiduciary and entity management services to clientsworldwide. The company also offers these services through allianceswith providers in Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.Wilmington Trust has been active in European markets since its 2002acquisition of SPV Management Limited, a pioneer of the Europeansecuritization community now known as Wilmington Trust SP Services(London) Limited.

Mr. Schroeder joins Wilmington Trust from Wachovia Bank, where heserved as senior vice president and sales manager in the CapitalManagement Group. There he held global responsibility for generatingnew business, developing new institutional trust products, and formingstrategic alliances with key service providers. Mr. Schroeder has alsoworked at other global financial services organizations during thecourse of his career in structured finance. A native of France, Mr.Schroeder received his education in the United States at theUniversity of New Hampshire, from which he earned an undergraduatedegree, and at American University in Washington, D.C., from which heearned an MBA in International Finance.
