Why IonQ Stock Is Crashing Today

IonQ (NYSE: IONQ) stock is getting crushed in Wednesday's trading. The quantum-computing specialist's share price was down by 38.3% as of 2:38 p.m. ET and had been down by as much as 47.8% earlier in the session.That plunge followed public comments made by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about the outlook in the quantum-computing space. According to Huang, commercially viable quantum computers are likely much further away than many investors have been hoping.Speaking at Nvidia's analyst day event at the CES trade show in Las Vegas on Tuesday,  the visionary tech leader said the following: "If you said 15 years for very useful quantum computers, that would probably be on the early side. If you said 30, it's probably on the late side. But if you picked 20, I think a whole bunch of us would believe it."
