Wall Street Set To Open Positive
(RTTNews) - Initial trends on the U.S. Futures Index point to a moderately higher open for Wall Street. Investor sentiments will be turning positive, as trade tensions between the U.S. and China are easing. The consumer price inflation and the latest earnings news might get attention this week.
Coca-Cola (KO), General Motors (GM), Netflix (NFLX), AT&T (T), IBM Corp. (IBM), Tesla (TSLA), and Intel (INTC) are among the slew of big-name companies reporting quarterly results this week.
Asian shares finished positive, while European shares are trading mostly up.
As of 8.15 am ET, the Dow futures were gaining 95.00 points, the S&P 500 futures were progressing 21.00 points and the Nasdaq 100 futures were up 102.00 points.
The U.S. major averages finished Friday firmly in positive territory. The Dow advanced 238.37 points or 0.5 percent to 46,190.61, the Nasdaq climbed 117.44 points or 0.5 percent to 22,679.97 and the S&P 500 rose 34.94 points or 0.5 percent to 6,664.01.
On the economic front, the Leading Indicators for September will be released at 10.00 am ET. The consensus is for a decline of 0.3 percent, while it was down 0.5 percent in the prior month.
Three-month Treasury Bill auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
Six-month Treasury Bill auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
Asian markets finished positive on Monday. China's Shanghai Composite Index added 0.63 percent to finish trading at 3,863.89.
The Japanese benchmark Nikkei 225 rallied 1653 points or 3.5 percent to close at 49,235.00. The Hang Seng Index of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange jumped 611 points or 2.4 percent.
Australia's S&P/ASX200 closed trading at 9,031.90, gaining 37 points or 0.41 percent from the previous close.
The NZX 50 of the New Zealand Stock Exchange gained 56 points or 0.42 percent to close trading at 13,344.96, versus the previous close of 13,289.21. NZX rallied 2.66 percent.
