VW, Audi, Porsche Recall 93k Cars Globally For Fuel Leaks

(RTTNews) - In order to address the problem of fuel leaks in some vehicle models, Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen are recalling over 93,000 cars and SUVs globally.

Volkswagen AG is recalling more than 25,000 vehicles in the U.S. to fix fuel leak problems. The recall also covers Audi A6, Audi A7 from 2012 and 2013, and Audi Q7, S4 and S5 from 2011 to 2012.

A similar recall from Porsche pertains to the Cayenne and Panamera S hybrids from 2011 to 2012.

Volkswagen, the parent of all the three brands, says vibration during driving, and production issues can cause small leaks in rare cases. VW and Audi said they were not aware of any fires or injuries due to this.

Reports, quoting a spokesman of Audi in the U.S., said that about 80,000 cars are being recalled worldwide to address the problem, with the issue - about two-thirds in the U.S. and China.

Porsche would recall about 13,500 cars across the world as the engines of these cars were supplied by Volkswagen and Audi.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 27,000 VW, Audi and Porsche cars are being recalled in the U.S.
