VMware Inc. Q3 Earnings Rise 15%

(RTTNews) - VMware Inc. (VMW) announced a profit for its third quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $433 million, or $1.02 per share. This was up from $377 million, or $0.87 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.00 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 9.9% to $1.67 billion. This was up from $1.52 billion last year.
