US Airways August Traffic, Load Factor Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) Thursday said its total Mainline load factor increased 0.6 points to 87.9 percent from 87.3 percent a year ago. Air traffic was up 6.3 percent to 6.3 billion revenue passenger miles. Capacity rose 5.6 percent to 7.1 billion available seat miles from 6.7 billion a year earlier. Mainline enplanements for the month of August increased 6.7 percent from last year.

The company's president said: "Despite challenging weather conditions and high load factors, our team delivered phenomenal operating results throughout the summer and we look forward to continuing that trend into the fall."
