Urban Outfitters Q2 Profit Tops View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Urban Outfitters Inc. (URBN) Monday posted second-quarter net income of $76.4 million or $0.51 per share, compared to $61.3 million or $0.42 per share in the comparable period last year.

On average, 33 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.48 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the latest second quarter were $758.52 million, up 12 percent from $676.27 million last year, while 30 analysts expected revenues of $768.07 million.

Comparable retail segment sales increased 9 percent from last year, with 38 percent at Free People, 5 percent at Urban Outfitters and 9 percent at Anthropologie.
