Unaxis Optics Announces Licensing of Its Patented ColorWheels(TM) with Premier

Unaxis Optics and Premier Image Technology Corp. have signed aglobal licensing agreement on patents owned by Unaxis Optics relatedto ColorWheels(TM) and their use in color sequential projectors. Thenon-exclusive agreement covers Unaxis owned US patent numbers6,024,453 and 5,868,482 as well as corresponding patents in otherEuropean and Asian countries either already granted or still pending.Yet again, this agreement and a number of additional ongoing licensingnegotiations demonstrate Unaxis Optics' leading role as a manufacturerand developer of components for Projection Display systems.

ColorWheels(TM) are used for all types of sequential colormanagement in multimedia projection systems such as Digital LightProcessing (DLP(TM)) technology. ColorWheels(TM) operate at speeds upto 14,400 rpm and are individually balanced to guarantee long-termreliability and minimal noise. Unaxis' coating technology and uniqueassembly process enables low-cost manufacture of ColorWheels(TM) withvery narrow tolerances and in different diameters.
