Tuniu Corp. Q1 Loss Widens, Despite Revenue Growth - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Tuniu Corp. (TOUR), an online leisure travel company in China, Monday reported first-quarter net loss attributable to ordinary shareholders of RMB233.1 million, wider than RMB62.7 million, a year ago. Loss per ADS narrowed to RMB3.71 from RMB7.24 per ADS in the comparable quarter last year.

Excluding share-based compensation expenses, net loss attributable to ordinary shareholders was RMB220.18 million or RMB3.50 per share.

Quarterly revenues soared 115.9 percent to RMB1.25 billion from RMB578.17 million, primarily due to the growth in revenues from both organized tours and self-guided tours.

Cost of revenues for the latest first quarter was RMB1.20 billion, representing a year-over-year increase of 123.4 percent from RMB535.88 million last year.

Looking ahead, for the second quarter, the company expects to generate revenues in the range of RMB1.40 billion- RMB1.43 billion.
