Todd Hixon Named Vice President and General Counsel of UniSource Energy
Todd Hixon has been named Vice President and General Counsel of UniSource Energy Corporation (NYSE: UNS) and subsidiaries Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Services.
Hixon, 44, succeeds Raymond S. Heyman as the company’s general counsel. Heyman, 55, is stepping down as Senior Vice President on June 30, 2011, to serve a three-year assignment for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Argentina.
"Todd is a gifted attorney and strong manager who has proven his integrity and sound judgment over more than 12 years with UniSource Energy,” said Paul Bonavia, UniSource Energy’s Chairman, President and CEO. "I’m confident he’ll extend his strong record of service as our general counsel.”
Hixon earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arizona’s College of Law in 1995 and practiced law for three years before joining UniSource Energy as a corporate counsel in June 1998. He rose to director and then manager of the company’s legal department and has served as general counsel for Millennium Energy Holdings, a subsidiary that oversees UniSource Energy’s unregulated investments. He was named Associate General Counsel of UniSource Energy in April 2010.
UniSource Energy's primary subsidiaries include Tucson Electric Power, which serves more than 402,000 customers in southern Arizona; and UniSource Energy Services, provider of natural gas and electric service for about 237,000 customers in northern and southern Arizona.
