The Walt Disney Co Q3 Earnings Advance 5%

(RTTNews) - The Walt Disney Co (DIS) announced a profit for its third quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $2.60 billion, or $1.59 per share. This was higher than $2.48 billion, or $1.45 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.61 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 9.0% to $14.28 billion. This was up from $13.10 billion last year.
