Tenet Healthcare Corp. Reveals 33% Drop In Q1 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Tenet Healthcare Corp. (THC) revealed a profit for first quarter that fell compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit totaled $45 million, or $0.45 per share. This was lower than $67 million, or $0.67 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.33 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 14.0% to $5.04 billion. This was up from $4.42 billion last year.
