Target Is Selling '50 Shades' Sex Toys

(RTTNews) - As the Valentine's Day premiere of "Fifty Shades of Grey" approaches, retailers are banking on the hope that the film will turn out to be a blockbuster just like the erotic novel of the same name.

Even big-box retailer Target Corp. (TGT) is cashing in on the media-hyped movie by selling Fifty Shades-branded adult toys. It has a Fifty Shades "Massage Me" candle, "No Peeking" blindfolds, as well as bath and massage oils. The retailer is also selling "Fifty Shades of Grey" lubricant and even a vibrating love ring that is intended for wear by men, but not on the finger.

The items can be found in what Target calls the "adult health area" of the store.

Fashion retailer Hot Topic is selling tights with the Christian Grey's signature sign off "Laters, baby," written on them.

Lovehoney, the UK-based online sex shop, has the exclusive rights to the Fifty Shades of Grey Official Pleasure Collection, which was approved by the author E.L. James herself.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is an upcoming American erotic romantic drama film directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson with a screenplay by Kelly Marcel. Based on E. L. James' best-selling novel of the same name, the film stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.

American football fans got a treat last Sunday when a new Fifty Shades of Grey trailer was released during the Super Bowl.
