Sony's $399 Virtual Reality Headset Launch In October

(RTTNews) - Sony is planning to launch PlayStation Virtual Reality headset in October. The VR headset will cost $399 or C$549. There will be 50 games, with new experience and new genres, available at the launch.

Though it is later than expected, the company said it would present a transformative experience in gaming. It will have a broad variety of content, supported by sufficient hardware.

The VR headset will have a 5.7-inch OLED display with full HD resolution. It would support 360 degree viewing and 3D audio compatibility. The Playroom VR can be downloaded by all PlayStation VR owners at the launch. It will include six games that can be enjoyed with friends and family.

In a blog post, Andrew House, president and global CEO of Sony computer Entertainment said more than 230 developers are working on the content for PlayStation VR, from smaller independent teams to larger studios at the industry's top publishers. He said, "The future looks bright indeed."
